NEWS AND COMING EVENTS

Our Herb Garden is doing well, but we don't have the time to devote to vegetables, so we've been sourcing what we can from local growers - which is actually most of what we use.  Local may mean as close as Sarasota or as far away as Immokolee or Homestead - but it doesn't mean Mexico or California.  Yes, some of what we use comes from those places when it's necessary and not available locally, but we'll always shop locally first.

NEXT EVENT YOU CAN ATTEND: Sarasota Fine Wine and Tastings will be hosting their monthly Grand Tasting on Thursday, April 12th, and we will be providing food pairings for selected wines.  SFWT is located at 4333 S. Tamiami Trail, telephone 941-487-7933.  Proprieter Steve Koch has a great selection of excellent wine at every price point, so stop in, taste some wines, and take something home to enjoy at your leisure.

RECENT EVENTS: On APRIL 29th we catered a fundraising luncheon for the Opera Guild at Selby Garden.  The event had a floral theme and featured a silent auction with some wonderful artwork by a number of local artists. In keeping with the theme we garnished the plates with edible flowers grown at our place in Arcadia.  MAY 5th we catered a pre-performance wine tasting at Asolo Theatre.  And of course we've done a few private parties in between!

Do you know about our luncheon delivery business?  We are currently offering one freshly made sandwich and one salad each day, Tuesday thru Friday.  We will usually have a soup selection, some chips, and cookies and brownies.  Businesses may call to place an order before 10:30AM.  Our delivery area includes Gulf Gate, the Trail from S of Gulf Gate to Bee Ridge Road, and Clark Road from the Trail to Rt 75.  We will drop off or email a menu on Friday for the following week, so email us at zestofsarasota@yahoo.com, or call 924-2535 to let us know you'd like to have delicious healthy lunches delivered at a reasonable price. We can also prepare box lunches for groups of 15 or more.  Please call for details!
